The tribute page

The Stray Cats were certainly not the first neo-rockabilly band, but they were and are one of the most succesful and influential. They have paved the way for many other bands. Therefore many bands have paid tribute to the Stray Cats in one way or another. I will try to list all the tribute songs, tribute albums and tribute whatever here. If you know of anymore please mail the_anchorman@arrp.nl

1988 Quakes [graphic reference]

The Quakes are a psychobilly band led by guitarist and vocalist Paul Roman. Their first release is a graphic reference to the Stray Cats first album.
In an interview Paul Roman reflected on this. Here is the question and the answer:
Question: Your first album was a graphic reference to the first Stray Cats album...
Answer: "We did what they did by coming to London and getting a record deal. I thought it was a good Idea- I had seen pictures of the Bluecats album that references the Gene Vincent album and some Polecats pictures that were like the Beatles album cover standing over the railing. It was a cool idea and it worked for us."
The whole interview and many more facts about the Quakes can be found on The Rockabilly Chronicle.

1993 One Night Stands ‎– Let It Roll. One Night stands plays The Stray Cats

This was released after the One Night Stands supported the Stray Cats on their 1992 tour of Japan
1 Rockabilly Rules
2 Everybody Needs Rock 'n Roll
3 嵐を呼ぶ男 (Arashi O Yobu Otoko)
4 Tight Black Leather
5 Let's Go Faster
6 Blast Off

The music is very tight with solid guitar playing, the lyrics are partly translated in Japanese. Apart from that the singing is actually very good, with an agressive style of singing. Really making the songs their own style.

Released on Starland ‎– SICN-20005
